Sweet treats bring great rewards

It was a sweet, sweet moment when C-Life recently raised $1,666.55 at their Biggest Morning Tea on Friday 7 June in support of Cancer Council.

It was a bumper year of cakes, slices, muffins, cookies and many other delicious sugary treats – mostly donated by C-Life Members and Canterbury staff. The table-laden spread was a delightful attraction to many people who stopped by after their workout, eager to get stuck into the sweets banquet.

Thank you to everyone who attended and donated generously as it helped C-Life smash their fundraising goal of $1,500. All funds raised will go towards supporting Cancer Council’s research and prevention efforts.

New this year was C-Life’s Greatest Baker Challenge which encouraged Members and staff to show off their Masterchef skills in the kitchen by donating their baked treats to the cause.

First place was taken out by C-Life Member and cake extraordinaire Maggie Morgan with her amazing double-barrel vanilla sponge with lemon curd filling naked cake served with passionfruit tea. She won herself a six-month C-Life membership.

“Thank you to everyone who contributed and donated on the day. Many thanks also to C-Life Team Leader Angela who put in so much work to organise it. We had a great feedback from everybody, and we look forward to hosting it again next year,” said Arthur Siambis, General Manager of C-Life.
